“The Rose City Jazz
Festival” |
|
An
annual event, the Rose City Jazz Festival is one of the
highlights of the Metro Chamber’s calendar. Held in
August downtown Tyler’s square, the festival enjoys
strong support from the entire Tyler community with
thousands in attendance. Proceeds from the festival go
to fund scholarships for Tyler graduating seniors. Bands
form all over the state take center stage light up the
downtown sky with the finest of jazz, blues and
R&B music. Food vendors, arts and craftsmen, local and
regional businesses as well as national corporations
combine creativity and resources to help the chamber
support this event.

Pamela Erwin’s “The Dance
Factory” |
|
As
part of our continuing commitment to the arts within our
community, the Tyler Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce
wholeheartedly supports Pamela Erwin’s, “The Dance
Factory.” For more than 20 years, Mrs. Erwin has been an
household name when it came to classical, jazz and other
forms of dance, with several of her students now
performing on Broadway and in New York City dance
troupes.
In a partnership with the city of Tyler, TheMetro hosts
classes for girls, taught by Mrs. Erwin and her team of
professional dance instructors. The Dance Factory studio
is located in the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce
building at 2000 W. Gentry Parkway. For more information

The North Tyler
Development Corporation |
|
The
North Tyler Development Corporation works to develop and
redevelop underutilized and urban areas of Tyler, with a
special emphasis on North Tyler. Working with
organizations like the Tyler Economic Development
Council, NTDC has a goal of working with existing
businesses city planners and developers in reclaiming
both commercial and residential property.
The corporation also works with area agencies and
institutions of higher learning in developing models and
surveys. It is a non-profit organization. |
