Organized and established in 1990, the Tyler Metropolitan
Chamber of Commerce promotes the growth and development of
minority businesses in the greater Tyler community, with a
special emphasis on North Tyler. TheMetro has targeted other
areas of concern, including community development, human
resource development, conventions and tourism, but does not
limit itself to these areas alone. Our aim is:

To foster economic growth and development of
minority businesses in the developing and underutilized
areas of Tyler/Smith County.

To work for the retention and expansion of
existing minority businesses.

To develop and implement neighborhood
revitalization programs.

To create an awareness of the positive
activities occurring in North Tyler and other developing
areas of the metropolitan area.

To provide for the educational growth and
development of chamber members through seminars, business
counseling and technical assistance.

To provide human resource development through
leadership, health and human relations programs.
TheMetro is a catalyst for business energy
focused on creating sustainable economic growth and improving
